Extension Agent, Family and Consumer Sciences - Food, Nutrition & Health
Rebecca is a Family and Consumer Sciences Agent with Virginia Cooperative Extension in the Northern Shenandoah Valley counties of Frederick, Clarke, Page, Warren, and Shenandoah. She provides educational programming to help build strong healthy families in the areas of physical activity and nutrition and their relationship to chronic disease prevention. She has more than 15 years experience in Extension education that includes developing a peer-reviewed national curriculum used by military installations, Extension systems, schools, and other youth development practitioners to encourage exercise and healthy behaviors in children. She also provides Strong Women, Healthy Hearts and Strong Women, Strong Bones classes (evidence-based nutrition and physical activity programs developed by Tufts University), ServSafe training, food preservation classes, and other general nutrition, food safety and physical activity programs for a variety of audiences.
